There was a great mix of regulars and newbies, and great discussions over 3-person fruity hawaiian drinks with colorful straws so long that they reached across the table. This was definitely my favorite Vegan Drinks atmosphere yet--dimly lit, intimate, and not too busy on a Tuesday night (however I went on a Saturday and it was packed). This was quite a step up from the 8 vegan drinkers who attended the first event. We will surely be back, but next month we are going to try something totally different.<br /><br />We are having the October East Bay Vegan Drinks at the *BRAND NEW* Lake Chalet Bar and Grill in Oakland right on Lake Merrit! They aren't the most vegan friendly establishment, so don't come super hungry, but they said they make some mean vegan pot pie and fries. Plus, this is our chance to give them lots of encouragement to offer more vegan options! Not to worry though, you won't leave thirsty. They have a well stocked bar with everything from Coors Light to fancy mix drinks. Get ready to rejoice fellow Oakland/Berkeley/other-awesome-East-Bay-location-ers, because now you can drink without having to worry about trekking back across the bay in your slightly enhanced state of mind!<br /><br />We are still trying to figure out...<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">WHERE?</span><br />Have any ideas for vegan-friendly and group-friendly East Bay locations?<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">WHEN? </span><br />When would be the best day/time? We don't want to cramp SF Vegan Drinks, which is on the last Thursday of every month. We are thinking about Wednesday or Sunday evenings. From 6-8?
